Konos Arranged Chronologically

Konos Curriculum has always interested me a lot... I don't use it, but I do get ideas from it. I own all three volumes...and two copies of Volume 1. One of those is from way back in the first year that Konos was publishing, and the other is still in binder form. Both were bought used at my favoritest favorite used homeschool bookstore (which has, unfortunately, now closed).

At any rate, in the binder copy of Volume 1 was a list someone made of how to arrange Konos chronologically. Exceptionally interesting to me because I teach history chronologically. I've never found this list anywhere else...I don't know who made it...there's no name. I've never seen anything like it on the Internet. So here it is. If you know the person who made this, please let me know so I can give them credit! (I lost this sheet for over two years...I'm not sure whether what I have is complete or not. But here's what I have:

Earth Science (Beginning, Eden, Fall, etc.)- Vol. 2
Ancient Egypt (In Africa-Earth Science Section)- Vol. 2
Greek Scientists (History of Science)- Vol. 2
Olympic Games (more on Greece)- Vol. 3
Tabernacle (great O.T. unit)- Vol. 3
Kings and Queens (King David to the Middle Ages)- Vol. 1
Explorers (Columbus, etc.)- Vol. 2
Early Settlers of America- Vol. 2
Colonial Times- Vol. 2
War of Independence0 Vol. 2
American Presidents- Vol. 2
American Government- Vol. 2
Frontiersmen- Vol. 1
Frontier Life- Vol. 3
Cowboys and the Old West (with horses)- Vol. 1
States and Regions (Boston Whaling, Gold Rush, Civil War, Henry Ford's invention)- Vol. 3
Military- Vol. 1
Flight and Planes- Vol. 1
a combination of Military and Flight can be used for a Unit of World War II Ships and Sailing (which can be scattered here and there)- Vol. 1

Oh, I admit it...

That's right. I'm a politically incorrect homeschooler. My kids watch too much tv, play too many video games, and I'm known to swear occasionally. They also do school, I swear!

Several people have asked me to start a blog in the last few months to talk about what I love best...homeschooling! Homeschool curricula! They both fascinate me, and I research them daily.

What makes me different? Maybe nothing. I'm outspoken and loud...and in person, very shy. Describes a lot of homeschoolers I know! I'm addicted to exclamation points and diet coke. I have a messy house, too many books, and a husband and kids I love.

I started researching education and purchasing educational materials when I was in elementary school...and never stopped. My love of education turned into an obsession when I had my first child...I researched, and researched, and researched. I researched educational methods, schools, homeschooling, and any and all kinds of curricula, textbooks, mom-made programs. I was hooked. By the time my oldest was 6 weeks old my husband and I had decided to homeschool.

At the time it seemed like a great idea. And I still think it is. But it's not perfect, because nothing is, and I'm about as far from perfect as they get.
